March 3, 2015:
LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE IN THE LAKES REGION WHITE MOUNTAINS and Great North Woods OF NEW HAMPSHIRE!

North Conway, NH: Everyone has their own idea of an “adventure.” Some like it wild. Some like it mild. Lucky for you, adventureinthewhitemountains.com is a fabulous guide to help you find the perfect adventure. Summer in the White Mountains brings all sorts of adventures to my mind. Soar through the air at Monkey Trunks Extreme Aerial Adventures.

Wanting a view from the top of Mount Washington?  Take the Cog Railway for a ride of beautiful scenery and old fashioned transportation.  Head over to Bretton Woods after for some mountain biking or take a ride on their Canopy Tours.  If ATV riding is your thing, take a guided ATV tour of Jericho Mountain State Park in Berlin, NH with Jericho Motorsports or up towards the Connecticut Lakes and Colebrook with Bear Rock Adventures.  Want something more peaceful? Take a guided paddle on the historic Androscoggin River or try your hand at world-class fly fishing at the Lopstick Cabins in the Great North Woods. Check out the Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce for all the fun things to do while up in the Great North Woods.

If you are heading south towards Lincoln or North Conway…look into taking a lazy float down the Saco River with the help of Saco Canoe Rental Company. Another fun adventure would be a visit to Alpine Adventures in Lincoln, NH.  And after a fun day playing in the water, cruise over to Clark’s Trading Post and check out their famous bear shows.

What would a trip to the White Mountains be without seeing a moose? Make reservations with the folks at Gorham Moose Tours for a comfortable air- conditioned ride into Moose Country! Gorham Moose Tours in Gorham is renowned for their success rate at spotting moose. Be sure to bring your camera. Further north and west is the Twin Mountains Chamber of Commerce and the North Country Chamber of Commerce. These two tourist organizations know how to show you a good time in the North Country and where to stay and eat while you are visiting.

And there’s always the saying, “ A family that bowls together, stays together”  . The Saco Valley Sports Center has bowling and more. They have an indoor driving range, billiards, and arcade-type games, too!

If adventure mini golf is your family activity of choice, well you are in luck.  You have two wonderful choices right on the strip.  Pirates Cove Adventure Golf boasts a 36 hole course with waterfalls, pirates and ice cream.  Banana Village is right up the street with 18 hole course and a fun family arcade.  Check out coupons to each of these in adventureinthewhitemountains.com or NorthConwayCoupons.com

Although summer is a great season here in the mountains, winter is a favorite of many visitors to New Hampshire’s lakes and mountainous regions. From skiing the trails at Loon Mountain or cross country skiing and snowshoeing at the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Center in North Conway Village. There are hundreds of miles of trails to be explored.

There are also tons of shops to pick up great winter gear and clothing. New gear for all your adventures can be found at Bob and Terry’s, The Rugged Mill and IME (International Mountain Equipment). For a little city sophistication be sure to stop in at Assets Jean Co., or Spruce Hurricane in North Conway Village. The Beggars Pouch Leather Shop has handmade leathers and some of the top brands for shoes, boots and jackets.

Have you ever taken a sleigh ride? NO? Well, you can at Nestlenook Estate and Resort in Jackson or at the Farm by the River in North Conway. Both of these places are in stunning locations. There’s even horseback riding and carriage rides at Riding in the Clouds which is at the Castle in the Clouds in Moultonboro.

Sometimes you don’t have to leave your hotel to find great things to do! This is especially true when you stay at Adventure Suites, one of the Top 10 Theme Hotels in THE WORLD! Don’t believe me? See for yourself, they give daily tours, PLUS they’re pet friendly. Stay at The New England Inn where kids 15 and under stay FREE; explore their peaceful 9 acres of land and go for a swim in the indoor pool.

If you’re like me and travel with your “furry friends” you know a huge factor in planning your adventure is making sure they’re taken care of. Did you know the Mount Washington Valley has several hotels that are pet friendly? Visit Hampton Inn and Suites, Nordic Village (kids 17 and under stay FREE), Stonehurst Manor, Adventure Suites, and Karla’s Pet Rendezvous to eliminate the stress of pet care. Are you tired yet? After all this adventure, you simply MUST treat yourself to and amazing massage at Pleasant Image.

As you can see, there are SO many adventure activities to pick from in the Mt. Washington Valley. So grab your hiking poles, mount your horse or ride ATV’s til the sun goes down. Just get here and have FUN!
