EVANS NOTCH, East Conway - Rt. 113 from Whitehorse on E. Conway Rd. to Gilead, ME on Rt. 2. Favorite lightly travelled, canopied two-lane ride. Check out “the Basin” on the south side of notch. You may also want to visit the Loki Wolf Refuge, a non-profit shelter, located on a dirt road about 5M up E. Conway Rd. from Whitehorse. 100 wolves & hybrids. Make a donation for guided tour.
HURRICANE MT. ROAD, South Chatham - from Rt. 113 S. Chatham, NH to Kearsarge, NH.
About 15 minutes from Whitehorse. The closest NH comes to the Alps. The 2-3 switchbacks on the west side are steep; the whoop-de-do’s on the east will send you airborne if not careful. Watch speed! Go east to west, turn around, & ride it back.
THIRTEEN-MILE WOODS - Rt. 16 north Berlin/Gorham to Errol.
A lush, valley road follows the historic Androscoggin River. Watch out for moose - They’re almost always seen at dawn or dusk.
KANC/FRANCONIA NOTCH PARKWAY NAT'L SCENIC PARKWAY
On Rt. 16 in Conway turn on Rt. 112 – The Kancamagus Highway to Lincoln 34 M. Ride Rt. 3 or Rt. 93 north to Rt. 302 S to Bartlett to Rt. 16 S back to Conway.
